Paris Hilton was in Australia hosting a New Year’s Eve Party for the reputed fee of $70,000 and caused a bit of controversy when she went shopping prior to the event. No she did not take a pop at the paparazzi instead she just went shopping spending over $100 a minute at a boutique which caused a few people to make comments one calling it “obscene” in the current climate and others, saying it’s people like her who keep shops afloat.
One political comment came from, Deputy PM Julia Gillard who stood up for Paris’s habits, which also included spending almost $4,000 at boutique Wayne Cooper.
“I’m obviously not as well practiced at shopping as Ms Hilton is,” said PM Gillard, “but Australia’s a great place to do it.”
