We don’t know if it’s the quest for all things vintage , if it’s the fantastic revival of burlesque, through stars like Dita Von Teese and Mel B, or the passion stars like Katie Perry and Lady Gaga have for wearing their underwear as well, outer wear, but retro lingerie seems to be here to stay(s). See what we did there? Earlier in the year Ashley Olsen and Lara Stone were pictured wearing their big knickers and bralets – and they made them look good.
Top Shop are well into the trend with their lingerie collection full of 40s style corsets, suspender belts, bralets, and big big knickers. Big knickers with studs, glitter lace and velvet. Apparently they’re fantastic for giving you a bit of a nip and tuck in all the right places. And if you’re brave enough they’ve got a fantastic range of sequinned bralets and hot pants that you can wear on their own.
Do you know, women all over the country are signing up for Burlesque classes and giving themselves saucy names like Rosie Blush and Sunflower La Bouche. Honestly, it’s true.
