Hey it’s Saturday morning. Relax, don’t rush to get dressed! The fashion news is all about nakedness this week anyway.
Thursday, saw a host of beautiful models arrive at Billingsgate Market to promote the launch of the Pirelli 2010 calendar. Daisy Lowe told reporters that, she had spent the week long shoot naked, and found the experience ‘very freeing’. Lucky the shoot was six months ago on the sun-kissed, Trancoso Beach in Brazil, and lucky you look like you do Daisy. (Can’t see us trying a naked week at TFG – too cold these drizzly November mornings – and quite frankly it might be enough to put us off our sandwiches)!!
Anyway, the lauch was also attended by Italian superstar, Sophia Loren and the girls partied afterwards at Movida.
The calendar was shot by Terry Richardson, who says he never touches up a photo, believing in allowing the woman’s natural beauty to shine through – luckily the girls are all naturally gorgeous then. Here’s the list: Lily Cole, Rosie Huntinton-Whitely, Daisy Lowe, Miranda Kerr, Abbey-Lee Kershaw, Eniko Mihalik, Ana Beatriz Barros, Georgina Stojiljkovic, Grace Carvalho, Catherine McNeil. He says the calendar is about ‘a woman who plays with stereotypes in order to undo them.’ Do you think he’s just saying that to get them to take their clothes off and do saucy poses? Maybe. He got the girls to frolic in the waves, dress like 1970s pin up girls, lay naked in the mud, pose with only a sloth (yes a sloth, as in cuddly, three-toed mammal) to cover their modesties and in one photo Daisy Lowe and Australian model Catherine McNeil pose nude together inside a tyre.
Actually, the whole thing just looks amazingly sexy and gorgeous. It would make a fantastic christmas gift for the guys wouldn’t it? Unfortunately, they’re only available as girfts to Pirelli’s exuclusive customers and VIPs. Oh so not fair!! Now, would anybody like to send us one…?
