Great things to do in April No.4 – Visit the Grace Kelly Fashion Exhibition At the V&A From April 17th

One of the most popular and beautiful actors of the 1950s, Grace Kelly was a true syle icon. Starting from April 17th 2010, at the V&A you can get an insider’s view of her wonderful wardrobe.

The collection inlcudes many dresses from her films as well as the gown she wore to collect her oscar in 1955. The collection moves on, showing us how her style evolved and changed during her time as Princess of Monaco.

Running alongside the exhibition are a fashion study day, a short course on 50s haute couture and a practical workshop making Grace Kelly hats and scarves.  Follow the links for more details. 25th Anniversary of London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week 2009

The British Fashion Council the organisaisers behind London Fashion Week will unveil its full list of sponsors next week for the 25th anniversary event which starts on September 18.

In what is traditionally a key time for fashion magazine titles with Vogue publishing its International Collections issue.

Also today Fashion in the capital has literally gone underground as models have turned the Central Line into a catwalk, eight models showed off clothes from leading High Street names on three trains between Tottenham Court Road and Marble Arch.

They marked the full mile and a half length of Oxford Street to launch the inaugural High Street Fashion Week which starts this Monday.

Gap are to launch online shopping in the UK

Gap UK

Gap are now set to launch an ecommerce site in the UK. The site launch is due to tie in with the Gap 1969 campaign which celebrates the retailer’s 40th anniversary and features two temporary concept stores in London and Paris, which are open from 10 September for 19 days and 69 hours.

The site features original Gap store photography in 3D, plus a Google Maps application directing consumers to their nearest store. It also features a range of exclusive clothes released around the anniversary.

Fred Perry Celebrates 100 Years

To celebrate 100 years, fashion label Fred Perry, has rolled out a visual merchandising scheme across all its UK and international stores , creating a montage of images from the Fred Perry archive alongside images of the latest product ranges to bring to life the brand over the past century.

They have also launched a special edition top (see above) to join the celebrations.
