Timepiece Trends Are Classics This Spring/Summer 2010

Category : Accessories, Advertising, Celebrity, Designer, Jewellery, Men, Women

All this talk of Alice in Wonderland has turned our minds to on-trend timepieces. Over the past couple of seasons, statement watches have become as key as any piece of jewellery. Pretty, as well as practical the watch should be shown off, day or night, as the wrist candy of choice.

Trends for timepieces this spring include crisp, clean, white, ceramic – one of the newest and increasingly popular materials in watch design. Ceramic is sought after for it’s strength, lusture and shine. We’ve chosen this gorgeous piece above from Swiss Legend. It would finish off any outfit in this season’s cleanest trends – nudes & neutrals, monochromes and nauticals.

Celebrities like Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and Jennifer Aniston, along with many of their fellow style icons, have been photographed wearing classic, Swiss, bracelet watches. Rose gold and silver tones have been popular with classic, circular black, white or highly coloured faces. The spring/summer 10 catwalk show at Hermes confirmed that an over sized man’s watch is the ultimate, understated, cool accessory. Looking just as gorgeous on women as men – on the men the watch says ‘classic sense of style’ on the women, worn large and loose, it looks feminine and sexy. Look out for extra features too, like chronographs and calendars. A classic, swiss designed watch always has that understated elegance no matter what the fashion fads of the time. We’ve selected these stainless steel bracelet watches from Sturhling Original and Swiss Legend – two watch companies with years of traditional Swiss watching making experience combined with a modern, cutting edge style. And the best thing is their prices won’t break the bank.

Our final choice is this large diameter, black watch with rose gold tones and leather strap from Stuhrling original which again is very classic in style, but sure to be on trend, as it reminds us of the US presidential watch. Click each image for more details about individual products, but do enjoy browsing through the rest of the collections.
