Asos are loving yellow and white for spring 2010

Category : Accessories, Latest, Spring, Summer, Trends, Women, bags

Yellow, we sometimes find it a bit of a difficult colour – but this spring Asos are loving it. Using yellow accessories to warm up a stark white dress or white accessories to cool down a bright yellow number – the two do seem to work as a perfect pairing (well millions of daisies can’t be wrong)! It’s all very clean and lovely and Doris Day. Will you be wearing it? Let us know. Also outfit photos are always very welcome.

Follow this link for the Asos feature on yellow and white trends, which inlcudes a video and a very catchy little tune!

Great Things to Do in April No.3 – Plan a Trip to the Races With Coast

Category : Accessories, Latest, Spring, Summer, Trends, Women, bags

Well, here come some of the most colourful, fashionable and glamorous events on the sporting calendar. A chance to dress up, wear hats, accessorise to your heart’s content – oh and maybe watch a little horse racing and have a little flutter into the bargain.  As we know, Ladies’ days at the races are all about winning – in the outfit stakes that is!

This year Coast offers us loads of wonderful inspiration in the shape of beautifully crafted dresses in all the seasons major trends, monochromes, neutrals, florals, colour blocks and brights. They have the headwear, the jewellery, the bags and the cover-ups – (they’ve even put together a racing calendar for us so we don’t miss a trick)  all that’s left for us to do is mix and match the perfect outfit.

If you’re at Royal Ascot this year, beware, the dress code is much stricter. Hats or a substantial fascinator must be worn. If you’re wearing a strapless or thin strap dress you’ll need a little cover up – as bare shoulders are a no-no, as are very short skirts.  Other race meets my be a bit more free and easy, but generally the challenge is to plan an outfit that’s elegant, and shall we say ‘ladylike,’ but also that’s fun and not boring. We can do that! Click each image for more product details.

We’re under starters orders with these  effortlessly stylish monochromes  shown above- there are loads more to choose from at the site. The great thing about the Duchess dress is it’s part of the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Campaign – a £40 donation will go to the charity.

And we’re off, combining neutrals, colour block and body con trends with these gorgeous tone on tone pieces.

We’ll come back with a follow up post and take a look at ideas around florals and brights – we’ll maybe get a maxi dress in there too. Just to let you know, Coast have free delivery available from now until midnight on April 11th.  In the meantime visit the site and play around with some emsembles of your own – hmm I think we feel a competition coming on..

Great Things to do in April No.1 – Shop for Fabulous Fossil Clothing in the UK

Category : Accessories, Designer, Latest

We all know and love Fossil as an accessories brand, especially for their amazing watches, jewellery and bags.

But until now, if you wanted to get your hands on the clothing range, you had to take yourself off to America. But no more. From tomorrow, April 5th, you can get your hands on Fossil’s vintage inspired, timeless pieces at Fossil.co.uk and from April 15th you can buy from the newly refurbished Covent Garden Store – the only other store to buy in Europe is Stuttgart.

The theme for the spring/summer collections for men and women is vintage safari, a mix of safari, Native American, and exploration influences. The collection is iconic and classic, yet has a modern and uniquely, distinctive feel. The pieces are easy and can be put together to build a look that is effortlessly stylish – capturing that free feeling of long, hot summer days, travel and adventure. Suffice to say, we like it.

We love the crop sleeve Price jacket and april cardigan to slip over bandeau dresses and strappy tops, when the day gets cooler, but the fun of the evening stretches on. We love the fabrics, with their rich mix of dusty desert colours and earthy prints, we love the demins, the check shirts and the graphic print tees. Follow the link to the site to take a look. We’d love to hear your comments, or about the key pieces you’re going to put into your summer wardrobe.

If you’d like to go and take a peek at the new store you can expect a look that is designed to reflect the company’s American heritage. Fossil designers approached the project with an industrial mindset, giving the stores a stylized warehouse feel. Authentic refurbished vintage items, like old ladders, light fixtures, wheeled carts, and benches, will be used to showcase products. Enjoy.
