Diana Eng has just released a book called “Fashion Geek,” where technology lovers can make fashion items that complement their tech gadgets in a step-by-step guide

In ‘Fashion Geek: Clothes, Accessories, Tech,’ she guides would-be crafters step by step through the process of making techno-garb such as the aforementioned hoodie; a digital locket that lets you display photos from your digicam, phone, and e-mails; and (my personal fave) buttons that light up when you open your jacket and turn off when you close it. Asos Launches Redesigned Website…

Asos has a new website which features an online community channel and also now has included childrenswear

They have tried to follow the look of their paper catalogue, with headlines to attract the fashion-hungry customer, eg ‘We love jumpsuits’.

The new online community section features blogs and a personal shopper who will be on hand to answer style questions and help find the right products for particular occasions.

Tesco to take on Asos…

The Supermarket chain has now set its sites ASOS who have used celebrity links to clothing as a key selling tool.

Tesco currently sell its own-brand clothing through its Tesco Direct site, however this is only for a limited number of lines.

The plan for the new site is for it to only sell own-brand lines such as F&F and Cherokee.

Tesco commercial, director Richard Brasher, has said the new site will be significantly different in look and feel to what it currently uses online.

The site is expected to be ready in time for the launch of the retailer’s autumn collection so as soon as we know some more details we will post.

Net-a-Porter to launch discount designer website…

The founder of Net-a-Porter,  is about to launch a new online venture offering customers the chance to get their hands on discounted designer labels.

The website theOutnet, which will launch in April aims to reproduce the experience of designer outlet villages online, with year-round sale prices.

Discount stores are benefiting from the recession as consumers are shopping around for bargains more and coming to expect product discounts as retailers increase their sale activity.
