Virtual Changing Rooms – Come to Top Shop Moscow

Topshop – Mosocow set up a virtual changing room using Microsoft Kinect and augmented reality to let shoppers try on clothes without going into a changing room.

The video shows it in action; a bit early days we think but won’t be long before we see it a lot more on the high street and at home ;)

Burberry Opens Beijing Store With Hologram Models

Burberry celebrated it’s new flagship store in Beijing with a show at the Beijing Television Center. The stars of the show were hologram models parading up and down the catwalk. The shows theme was the “four seasons”, with holograms bursting into snowflakes at one point.

John Lewis – Launch Online Magazine

John Lewis are about to lauch their online magazine which will feature exclusive content not found in their printed magazine.

The first edition  ‘Spring fashion special’ will features  fashions and products found in-store accessories, plus spring trends, videos for beauty ideas, and wardrobe-planner tips.

Rachel Swift, head of marketing for fashion at John Lewis, said: “In our shops we have transformed the look and feel of our womenswear departments and online we are using the ‘Spring fashion special’ to showcase our range of brands and development in own brand design.”

Le Lab, New Designers Showcase Project by Brand Alley

BrandAlley.co.uk has launched its Le Lab project which lets designers  showcase their collections to customers, who will vote for their favourite.

The winning designs will go on to be sold through the site, which has eight million subscribers in the UK and France.

Melissa Littler, marketing director for BrandAlley, said: “This is an innovative way to shop within an online community, where it is the customer and not us, who decides what will go on sale.
