Just picture a sunny day, there you are shopping in your little blue ruffle blouse, with your gorgeously shaped shopper on your shoulder. How fabulous will you look when you stop for a well earned rest at that smart little outdoor cafe…

Now, if you have to carry diabetic treatment equipment around with you, which would you prefer? A dull, unispiring, black nylon bag that looks very boring when spotted in the handbag, and tells the whole world your business – or – something in a bright cherry red with a funky zebra stripe lining – or- perhaps a bold floral on a soft blue background with wonderful oversized polka-dots inside?
When, during her second pregnancy Rykina Velte discovered she had gestational diabetes, she knew exactly what she would prefer but couldn’t find it anywhere. So did she give up and go back to the black nylon? No she founded Stick Me Designs and designed it herself.
Rykina is based in the US but will ship all over the world, the bags cost just $35, and she is currently working on a men’s collection. Visit the site to read her full story.

Photographed in London by Mario Testino, this year’s campaign makes fantastic use of movement and colour and leaves behind the usual moody black and white. Agyness is joined by models Lily Donaldson, Eddie Campbell, Alice Gibb and Laura Fraser as well as guitarist Liam Wade and Sting’s daughter Coco Sumner. As we know, ombre and all kinds of prints – everything from bold florals, geometrics, abstracts, artist’s ‘splodges’ – were a big story on the catwalk for spring and summer 2008. So I selected a few of these dip die and printed pieces from the Next Directory when it landed on my doormat the other day. The Dip Dye Tee-shirt ties in with the sporty looks that will be around soon, and maxi-dresses will be with us again in 2008. I really like the floral print tunic worn with white trousers – a really wearable way to pull off this look. If you want just a touch of print to add to your spring wardrobe, get the geo-print scarf from Next (this looks fantastic with a crisp white shirt) or take another look at the print scarves from Accessorize that we featured in Rachel’s LA Cool (Accessories Archive December 2nd).
